One of my many sewing machines I use. This is a 1950 Singer Model 66, affectionately named "Beulah the Beast". She was gifted to me by a kindly old gentleman.

What I Create and Materials Used
About the fabrics used, for some of my Japanese knot bags and my crossover shoulder bags, I use 100% silk from vintage kimonos and vintage juban kimono. If I am lucky, I may be able to get four to five bags out of one kimono and maybe two from the juban kimono, depending on the condition of the kimonos. Each vintage kimono is a unique piece of art unto itself, so some of my bags are very few of a kind and, in some cases, one of a kind. Being that the silk is very lightweight, I adhere the silk to interfacing to add firmness, shape, structure, and support. Because of the time, rareness of the fabric, and, in some cases, the effort it takes for me to create these, they are a little bit more costly than my all-cotton Japanese knot bags.
My non-vintage silk Origami totes, bags, and pouches are made with 100% cotton, or I may use vintage fabrics I have found at my various haunts. Depending on the style of Origami bag, I may use an interfacing.
Other items I create are "Keepsake Necklace Pouches." My Keepsake pouches are influenced by Native American peoples. I do not make many of these because of the hand-bead work that is involved. The materials I use are suede from Spain. The seed beads and pony beads I use are made of glass, and depending on my design, I may use bone hairpipe beads.
I have some other creative sewing projects in the works! My sewing adventures continue!
